Reach the Heart Moment: Giving Him My All

There is a story that has been told of a country where a new king had just been crowned.

None of his subjects had yet seen him but were ecstatic to learn he would be passing by the next day. One subject, a beggar, rose early to get a good spot by the road to see the king. He took along, his only possession; his last bowl of rice.

He waited anxiously in the hot sun, hoping for one look at the new king.

Finally, the king was coming, and the beggar like everyone else, bowed down acknowledging his authority over them. Suddenly, the beggar noticed the king’s shadow had stopped directly over him. Fearfully he lifted his eyes, and the king descended from his stallion and stood in front of the beggar.

“Son, would you give me your rice?”

With hesitancy and resentfulness at the king’s request, the beggar reached into his bowl and put several kernels into the king’s hand. The king moved on.

After a few minutes, the beggar looked into his bowl and was shocked to see there was a kernel of gold in place of every kernel of rice he shared with him.

In great remorse, the beggar cried to himself,

"If only I had really known about my king, I would have given him my all.”

Jesus Christ is our King! And if we really know Him, He has promised to bless in every area of our lives.

John 6:35 says,

Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

I’m Pastor Cal, and I pray you reach a heart through this Reach the Heart Moment.
