Reach the Heart Moment: Living Sacrifice

We often hear our Pastor, Youth Pastor, or Sunday School teacher tell us we need to be a "living sacrifice."

While teaching a 4th grade Sunday School class, I was sharing with them how God told Abraham to take his son Isaac and sacrifice him on an altar. The children in that class did not think that was so bad because it was someone else that was involved. But, when I told them that Romans 12:1 tells us that

"we are to be living sacrifices,"

well, they did not think that was such a hot idea. After all, who would ever want to tie themselves on an altar to be burned up?

Many have a difficult time with Romans 12:1

"to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual worship."

Being a living sacrifice means that you and I have been called by God to an avenue by which people will come to Jesus Christ.

It is our testimony, our lifestyle, our example that we put on God's altar to show people Jesus.

If the living sacrifice you offer to God today is not a pleasing lifestyle, it may be what is keeping your friends from knowing Christ.

Revelation 12:11 says,

"We overcome Satan by the blood of the lamb, and"

(get this)

"the WORD of our testimony."

Your life as a living sacrifice is a life that is dedicated to God, and your testimony is what can and will cause people to know Jesus Christ.

I’m Pastor Cal, and I pray you reach a heart through this Reach the Heart Moment.
