Reach The Heart Moment: Practice What You Preach

Have you ever been around someone who seemed to be the “Perfect Christian”?

They have all the books of the Bible memorized; they can quote 1 Corinthians 13; and they haven’t missed a church service in 12 years.

On Sunday they have it all together, but during the week they change and become…Totally Worldly. In fact, if they are in church, school, or work, they blend in so well with the surroundings that you have no idea what they really are. You might even think they are a chameleon.

Philippians 1:27 tells us:

“Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ...” (NLT)

The Christian life is more than just saying the right things. It is a matter of doing the right things for the right reasons.

So how should we conduct ourselves:

  • Our conduct should be an imitation of how Christ would act
  • Our conduct should show good works without being conceited and thinking we are better than others
  • Our conduct should be a witness of Christ. The most important aspect of how we live our lives is the effect our life has on those around us. Jesus said if He is lifted up, He will draw all men unto Him.
  • The question is, “Are we drawing people to Christ by our example, or are we despised because of our conduct?”

I’m Pastor Cal and I pray you reach a heart through this Reach the Heart Moment.
