Every year, millions of people make New Year’s resolutions.

Have you ever stopped to think why? Improve themselves? Yes, but why? To be better able to handle life? Yes, but why? Get ahead? Yes, but why?

Well, I guess the reason we make resolutions is to equip ourselves to be different. We make resolutions, promising ourselves we will be different this year, winning the battle to be different. Winning for those in the world is getting ahead; having more possessions; being respected by more people; getting a better job; gaining more authority; and becoming more powerful.

Winning for a follower of Christ includes all those things, but the difference for our motivation, as a believer in Christ, is for our success to be established on God’s will!

The average person will again this year make New Year’s resolutions to win. The Christian, on the other hand, has the opportunity to make a resolution. Leave this year of frustration and fear in the past.

The greatest opportunity we can begin is to pray that 2021 will be a year of destiny and new opportunities.
