Reach the Heart Moment: Who Rules?

“The rules have changed.”

A line from a commercial for a particular type of truck that a manufacturer was promoting.

I’m not sure of the meaning behind why they changed the rules, but I assume it was because they had made a truck more than just a truck by simply adding features the usual truck did not have.

In your walk with God, there are rules that God has established for holy living, that if you and I plan to be effective, we must maintain and practice these rules in our commitment with Jesus. These rules are beyond a list of dos and don’ts! Instead, they provide us the ability to resist and stand up against an enemy that will not play by God’s rules and give us the opportunity to have victory over sin. Colossians 3:15 says,

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

The peace of Christ is knowing who Christ is and having a relationship with Him by casting all your cares on Him.

It is the peace of Christ that will rule when we fall short and when we fail Him. So, what rules over your life? Circumstances? Uncertainty? Or does the peace that comes from knowing Jesus Christ rule over your life?

I’m Pastor Cal, and I pray you reach a heart through this Reach the Heart Moment.
